With the Covid-19 pandemic receding, and the announcement of the start of the new BBL season in early October, the Leicester Riders are delighted to put season tickets on sale for the new 2020/ 21 BBL season. The Arena has undertaken a huge amount of refurbishment work through the summer, which makes it one of the most Covid Secure venues in the county.
It has been an extremely challenging spring and summer for the Riders, Foundation and Arena, and your support in purchasing a Riders Season Ticket would be more appreciated than ever, as we look to recover from the huge impact on our club and businesses.
The Arena has done a great deal of review and investigation, working with the Council, on how we will accommodate fans in compliance with the latest Government guidance, and that means we cannot for this season make available the same seats that all ticket holders purchased in previous seasons, due to a reduced capacity at the Arena for the foreseeable future, allowing for social distancing. We may be able to revert to that process for the 2021/22 season, if full capacity is allowed.
As we previously advised, thanks to changes in the fixtures structure of the competitions by BBL, we are pleased to be offering additional home games for your Season Ticket, to compensate you for games you missed out on last season, due to Covid-19 prematurely curtailing the 2019/20 season.
Unfortunately, we have had to slightly increase adult and concession prices, whilst significantly reducing child prices. This means overall family prices will be slightly reduced, but bought as separate items (adult/ child) to simplify our processing. We also cannot offer Premium and Standard prices this season as we have done historically, because of the reduction in seats available. At least one of the Castle or Abbey stands is likely to remain unavailable
for some/ much of the upcoming season.
So, as previously, the Season Ticket will apply to all BBL Championship, Trophy and Cup home games. Season ticket holders are also entitled to priority access on tickets at all other events – including pre-season (if applicable (we hope to stage a Pilot)), playoffs and major finals, as well as exclusive offers to some other events at the Morningside Arena. The Season Ticket means you save money compared with full concessionary prices of circa 30% upwards, depending on ticket type.
In addition, we will reward season ticket holders with further incentives from our partners, and some special offers at Morningside Arena, as we did last season. We will announce these in due course through the new Morningside Arena App and will offer season ticket holders unique benefits both within the arena and with our partners.
In lieu of being able to guarantee your existing seat, we request you indicate only which Stand (Victory or Granby) you prefer, and whether low seating (up to circa row 10) or high seating (above the low rows) and any additional seating preference (e.g. whether you wish to sit next to/ near to other season ticket holders/ and whether or not they are in your ‘bubble’). We will then allocate your seats, and advise you.
Your Season Ticket will be purchased, and seats then allocated, through our new Total Tickets system, which we are using for all Arena staff/ users/ customers for all activities and all Events – in order to maintain a record of who is in the Arena.
Finally, we will be introducing a further option this season, where, if you advise us 72 hours in advance of any home games you are unable to attend, we will put your seats ‘in play’ and, if successfully reallocated, you will be provided with free vouchers to use for purchases at future Riders games or at the Arena, including for food & beverage, or merchandise. Because this is a new scheme we are experimenting this season on how it will work, but importantly, it will give us more flexibility in allocating seats, within Covid safety constraints, and with reduced capacity, and our Season Ticket holders can benefit.Buy Season Ticket
