#MorningsideMemories - Leicester Riders finally come HOME!
After something of a nomadic existence with spells at John Sandford Sports Centre & Loughborough University’s Sir David Wallace Centre, the Leicester Riders pursuit for a permanent ‘home’ came to fruition with the opening of the then Leicester Community Sports Arena in January 2016.
Already positioned as one of the very best in British Basketball, the Leicester Riders would move into their new home hosting the Surrey Scorchers on opening night, a night that welcomed a full house on a historic and memorable occasion for players, staff, volunteers and fans alike.

It seems like only yesterday that the venue formerly known as ‘Leicester Community Sports Arena’ opened its doors on 27th January 2016, via the ‘Leicester Arena’ name the venue that we now know as Morningside Arena Leicester is gearing up to celebrating its 3rd anniversary.
Over the next few days we will be looking back on some of the Arena teams highlights that have cemented the Arena as not only the biggest indoor venue space in the City, but one of the most versatile!
