Morningside Arena Extension Update

We would like to update you regarding progress on the Arena Extension Project.
We are delighted that the civil works by our partners C3 Construction has progressed well.
Part of the new car park on the old gravel area to the east of the building is now near complete and will allow us to open part of the new car park, accessible via Memory Lane.
We are now entering Phase 2 of the civil works, where ground works will commence on the existing car park at the front of the Arena.
That means we will fence off the front car park, and no parking on site will be available from Charter Street from 15th May 2022.
At the same time, we will open part of the new car park which will be accessible via Memory Lane. The bollards at the top of Memory Lane will be removed to allow access.
In addition, from 5pm each weekday, we will open the car park at the top end of Memory Lane in front of Leicester College C Block on the right-hand side (see map below). That will be available each evening to Arena users. You can also park evenings on the car park at #10 Charter Street, which is leased by the Riders Foundation.
Safety is of paramount importance to us.
Thus, the ongoing construction areas will be fenced off.
Further, access to the arena during the day/ evenings from the parking that is accessed by Memory Lane will be around the construction fencing on the new car park and the current car park and then onto Charter Street footpath and into the main Arena Entrance (see the arrows marked blue on the drawing below, which shows the fenced off construction zones).
There is signage in place to direct customers/ users.
We have also provided lighting in the car parks to ensure safety in the late evenings.
We will make further announcement as the project progresses.
