Overview of the Arena
The Morningside Arena, Leicester is the largest and most flexible indoor space in the city of Leicester, and can be used for conferences, exhibitions, music and comedy events, large-scale dinners, celebrations, product launches, parties, weddings, or any other special event.
With over 2,440m2 of floor space in the main Arena, approximately 41m by 62m, and with 220m2 of space on the first floor, the latter capable of subdivision into up to 5 rooms, the Arena has the capability of staging a wide range of events, and provides these exceptional conferencing facilities right in the centre of Leicester. The Arena has access to superb catering facilities, on-site complimentary car parking, and is adjacent the inner ring road and in close proximity to a wide range of public transport, with both the Haymarket bus station for the city, and St Margaret’s bus station for the county, in walking distance.
The Arena is situated on the Grand Union canal, and with bridge access to Abbey Park, and as well as on site car parking, there is access to up to 5,000 car parking spaces within a half mile radius of the Arena, including off the A6, coming from the north.
The Arena has 3 main bars, and 2 large 7m by 3m screens in the main Arena, which can be used for a wide range of promotional and crowd engagement activities, and the Arena has exceptionally comfortable seating, with easy access and egress to individual seats throughout the event.
Events already held include John Bishop comedy night, an evening with Peter Andre, multiple Bollywood music events, and a religious event with the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Forthcoming events include a show by the Dreamboys, and a blues festival, and rock music event.
The Arena is also fully accessible, with a Changing Places for those with profound disabilities.


Home of the Leicester Riders
At over three times the size of a typical leisure centre sports hall, the Morningside Arena is home of the national Club basketball champions, the Leicester Riders, and provides excellent flexibility of use, and conferencing facilities.
The Arena provides an ideal venue for regional, National or International sporting/entertainment events with a capacity of up to 3,000 people [between 2,400 and 2,800 seated]. Major televised boxing events have already been staged by Frank Warren with BT Sport, and Barry McGuigan’s Cyclone Promotions with Channel 5. The Arena has also staged SuperLeague netball matches on Sky Sports, and Great Britain World Cup basketball matches
If you are a sporting national governing body looking for a great venue to showcase your sport, your championships, top class professional events, or you wish to stage a large-scale community or charitable event, the Morningside Arena is for you.
The Arena is also utilised during the week for a wide range of community sport activities, with all ages and groups catered for, including a full suite of basketball sessions.
